The only part of the tooling process not handled in-house is the aluminum and ceramic casting.  At this point we are about 90% in-house in regards to vacuum forming tools, (all other tooling is 100% in-house).  With our integrated design and tooling services offered, Sportech now shares a seat beside the largest heavy gauge plastic thermoformers in the world.  We have recently built our second in-house tool room.  This new shop is an 800 square foot, ultra modern machine shop with complete CAD/CAM capabilities.  This new tool room layout gives us the opportunity to stock pattern and mold making materials such as Perfect Plank Pine, Ren Shape and Red Foundry Board.  Besides changing out tools and checking machine progress, the VMC can essentially run unmanned 24 hours a day.
